OECD work on Capital Markets and Corporate Governance

Global capital markets are undergoing profound changes and are predictedto play an increasingly important role in financing innovation,accelerating economic growth and creating jobs. Many countries aretherefore promoting better capital markets and more competitivecorporate governance rules and practices. Good corporate governanceregulation should not only improve the long-term use of corporateresources. They should also be designed to improve the efficiency of thewhole investment process and the economy's ability to mobilise andallocate capital. 

MATS ISAKSSON, HEAD OF THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND CORPORATE FINANCE AT THE OECD, will explain the OECD's work on thefunctioning of primary and secondary capital markets and discuss howglobal developments affect the way we think about corporate governance.
